mon.itor.us - personalized Ajax dashboard interface, checks server performance and availability, generates uptime reports, tracks visitors, alerts its users in case abnormalities are detected. They also provide tools for performance research, web analytics and business intelligence. Users may use the service to benchmark their site performance versus industry/competitors performance. They can also research web traffic correlations with uptime and performance all in the same place - the feature we did not yet see in any other even commercial services.

Statcounter - Now into beta 4, this is one of the best free analytics tools out there. Among the features are an Invisible Counter Option, Configurable Counter, Configurable Summary Stats, Magnify User, Drill Down, Popular Pages, Entry Pages, Exit Pages, Came From, Keyword Analysis, Recent Keyword Activity, Search Engine Wars, Visitor Paths, Visit Length, Returning Visits, Recent Pageload Activity, Recent Visitor Activity and Country/State/City Stats. Google Analytics (duh) - the big poppa, still can’t be beat for ease of use and its acceptance in most online blog services. The flexible graph feature is very nice and for those of you new to GA they have ‘Conversion University’.

Performance Metrics - “not just another web analyzer” is their slogan and to some degree they are right. They have features you can’t find with any of the other analytics tools such as individual visitor details, custom tracking data(cookies, usernames, etc.) and IP tags. Their dashboard has the nicest ‘feel’ to it, very visual and easy to navigate and you can get results via RSS feed.

Sitemeter - the most basic of the 5 here, it still has all the valuable features of any of them. Simple navigation and layout make this great for beginners.

Quassia is a new credit driven intelligence engine and cascading tag based web directory that allows you to add your websites and earn backlinks based on the credits you earn through adding content (they call it ‘intel’ short for intelligence).
It is a hybrid of sorts, allowing site owners to gain quality backlinks as well as any revenue generated an ‘intel’ page you create.
Yes, you heard me right, 100% of the gross ad revenue from that page is yours.

Lets break it down:

Free unlimited quality backlinks - You get one backlink for every piece of intel you add. Every intel will carry a direct backlink to one of your sites. So the more intel you add, the more backlinks you get.

Credit - When you add intel, you also get credit, in the form of Qassia dollars. Your net worth in Qassia dollars determines how well your websites rank in our directory. As a bonus for signing up now, you get 500 credit dollars for every new user you refer for the first 12 hours after you sign up!

Revenue - When your intel is displayed, you get 100% of the advertising revenue generated by that page. That is not a typo, by the way: they give you ALL of the gross ad revenue.

As a content repository, Quasia will draw tons of traffic meaning high exposure for your articles, free quality backlinks and earned revenue for those pages.
Currently, the site is in Beta and you can only sign up (which is free) if you are referred by a member.

Yaro Starek is one of the true blogging success stories I have come across. Not only does he blog with real honesty and conviction, he seems to be a very genuine person who is committed to doing things the right way, and the money will follow.
And apparently his good guy formula is working just fine, Thank You. His blog Entrepeneurs Journey is now bringing in $20k+ per mo. and he recently launched a membership site called ‘Blog Mastermind‘ which quickly sold out. His posts are filled with information and inspiration so be prepared to quickly become a fan. Reading his 3 part article ‘How I Made Six Figures In One Day - 2007 Year In Review’ left me feeling reassured that we all have the capacity for success if we are willing to do the work.

OK this one has major potential. NetAudioAds™ Pay-Per-Play (PPP) advertising is an advertising channel that has been running for 2 ½ years, has over 66,000 advertisers and over 550,000 websites that serve PPP ads to their visitors. For those of you not familiar with PPP this is a short explanation from NetAudioAds:

PPP is a way for advertisers (Like Harley Davidson or Taco Bell) to serve a 5 second audio advertisement to website visitors. It is a way for advertisers to target their 5 second audio ad to specific interests, demographics and geographic locations.

Big TV’s ad revenue is dwindling because PPP offers advertisers a more cost effective advertising solution that has been providing positive Return on Investment (ROI) for over 2 years. PPP offers advertisers a way to reach their target audience and is the only form of media whose impressions and ad placements are verified by an independent 3rd party.

The 550,000+ websites that currently serve these ads are responsible for up to 43 million streams (impressions) of advertisers’ 5 second audio ads on a monthly basis.

PPP audio ads only play one time so web page visitors are not bombarded with a continuous stream of 5 second ads. They use technology that crawls the readable content of any web page where the PPP code is inserted. As a result, they only serve ads that are related to the content of any web page where the PPP code is present.

This is a summary of the compensation plan:

25% of what the advertiser spends on PPP ads you serve on your own website(s).

5% of what the advertiser spends on PPP ads played on the website(s) of those you refer.

5% of what the advertiser spends on PPP ads played on the website(s) that your direct referrals bring on board.

On February 1st, a major independant 3rd party firm, BPA Worldwide will verify the footprint of sites hosting the code and advertisers will enter a bidding war for ad placement on those sites. The more websites that get into the network before February 1st, the higher the opening bids will be!

Once NetAudioAds reaches its core number of marketers they will close this opportunity.

There is no cost to get involved. It will never cost a publisher (website owner) a dime to place PPP ads on their website(s). It will never cost our marketing partners a dime to refer this opportunity to their peers. All revenue from the PPP program will come from the advertisers that bid for PPP placement in the network that you help build.

Why Keyword Focus & Density Matters For Your Blog

The topic of this article is especially important, as it is hotly debated: why focus & density matters. While some would state why keyword focus & density matters – because it is one of the best ways to optimize your page for targeted traffic – other would challenge that premise altogether. There are essentially two things which will be used to rank your blog – your onpage factors and your offpage factors. The bulk of your onpage score will quite simply be determined by your keyword focus and density. This is why keyword focus & density matters.

Of course, your offpage factors should also be optimized for keyword focus, too. For instance, if you’re planning to optimize your blog for the keyword “Sunflower Seeds,” you will want to use the keyphrase “Sunflower Seeds” in the anchor text of all of your links. This means that the title of your link in any directories you submit to will say “Sunflower Seeds.” This is arguably a far more important form of optimization; however, it is still an argument for why keyword focus & density matters, but simply from an offpage perspective about focus, rather than density.

For onpage factors, you will want to consider your title, your headers, and your keyword focus and density for the body of your site. Before you even create your blog, you will want to figure out what keyword you should optimize for. An easy way to do this is to determine how many people search for your keyword. You can use tools like overture’s inventory tool or Keyword Elite to do this. You can then compare that number against the amount of competing pages by Googling that keyword in quotations. You may also want to check out competing pay-per-click bids through your Google Adwords account if you plan to publish Adsense ads.

Once you have selected a good keyword or set of keywords for your blog, you will then want to optimize your blog for these keywords. You can do this by inserting these keywords into your blog entries at a density of approximately 1.5% — or six uses per 300 words.

Working on your blog’s keyword focus and density – including both onpage and offpage factors — is crucial because it will ultimately determine how much traffic you receive. Additionally, optimizing onpage factors for keywords that are searched for less than 1000 times may allow you to capture an entire search group without actually competing.

100,000 Guaranteed Hits, Only $69.99!

I know you’ve seen this type of advertisement or website slogan, especially if you’re new to internet or affiliate marketing. Your mouth starts to water and your mind starts spinning at the possibilites! Then, the calculator comes out…
“Let’s see, if I purchase 100,000 hits for $69.99, and my new affiliate program pays me $20.00… that means if ONLY .1% purchse the product, I’ll make $2000, which is $1930.01 in PROFIT! Woo Hoo! I’m gonna be R-I-C-H!”

Wrong. If you’re new to internet or affiliate marketing, don’t fall for the hype. You’re not going to find any successful marketers using these types of services. Oh, we’ve all been there and done that, so we don’t blame you. But if you can learn from other’s failures and wasted time, money, and shattered hopes, do it NOW.
See, affiliate or internet marketing is all about TARGETED traffic (don’t fall for the ‘targeted’ guaranteed programs either - they too don’t work). The formula is simple, send targeted traffic to a relevant, well written website with a quality product or service, and you’ll make sales. ]

See, with ‘guaranteed hits’ programs the traffic just isn’t targeted enough, or at all. I don’t care how many times you show me a website selling pink mini-skirts, as a 6 foot 7 inch guy weighing in at 260lbs… I’m just NEVER going to buy! You MUST give your website visitor what they want, and what they expect to see when they get to your site. Simple.
I’ll go ahead and speak for all of the internet and affiliate marketers out there and help you refrain from wasting your time and money. These ‘guaranteed hits’ programs just don’t produce targeted traffic. I know of one internet marketer who personally made this mistake and purchased over 1,000,000 (yes, One Million) ‘guaranteed hits’ from various vendors. He spent hundreds of dollars - with not ONE sale. Nope, not even one dollar earned.

He even paid good money to become a reseller for these programs so he could purchase the hits at wholesale! Not ONE sale, ever. Making this mistake and wasting that money almost made him quit affiliate and internet marketing outright. But he didn’t, and he is steadily increasing his results, and income, with the proper techniques.

Once again, don’t waste your time or money on any kind of ‘guaranteed hits’ program or service. Instead, take your time and money and point them towards the resources that will actually work. Work on getting targeted traffic by Lead capturing, autoresponders, viral eBooks (with quality content), and joint ventures, all examples of excellent methods and tools to use.
